Rafi-Shammi Era

Saleem Zamaan’s 36th Annual Homage to Rafi Saab in Sydney on 24th Sept 2016

  • Venue:  C3 Conference Venue in Silverwater , Sydney
  • Date: 24th Sept 2016

The Sangeet Mehfil team is delighted to announce Saleem Zamaan’s 36th Annual Homage to his inspiration RAFI SAAB on Saturday, 24th September 2016 … this year, it is a double tribute!

The theme is “SHAMMI KAPOOR — The Golden Era of Trendy Film Music”. Some of the most romantic songs were introduced to the Indian Cinema during the Rafi-Shammi era.

Like last year, Saleem aims to meticulously orchestrate these trendy semi-westernised melodies (as close to the original as possible) with the support of a handpicked team of local, free-lance, multicultural, professional musicians, melodious co-singers and vibrant anchors who will also enlighten you with some interesting snippets from the Rafi-Shammiera.

This shradhhaanjali to the two Legends of Indian Cinema is not to be missed … it promises to be another memorable, trend-setting “concert with a difference”.

We are grateful for the support received last year to this annual event, and we seek the same spirit to encourage our professional “local” artistes to be able to create performance standards beyond expectations. Please feel free to invite like-minded friends from this event page.
