Australia Bharatha Brahman Samaj is pleased to organize this month’s bhajan, which will be performed by the students of Swara Sadhana School of Carnatic Music and their guru Smt Sundari Saripalle.

Smt. Sundari Saripalle is a distinguished Indian classical musician and teacher in Melbourne. Blessed with mellifluous voice and a natural flair for the art form, Sundari brings pure, traditional and classical Carnatic Music to Australia.

Sundari’s strengths are her repertoire, a deep understanding of the emotions of the ragas and compositions, and her ability to bring this emotion into her music.

Sundari was introduced to the rich musical traditions of Vijayanagaram, India, where she had her musical training from Late. Sri. Sistala Sathya Rajasekharam and Sri. Seshayya Sastri. Later she moved to Bombay and expanded her repertoire under the tutelage of Smt. T R Balamani and Smt. Rajya Lakshmi

Sundari is sought after performer and teacher for Indian classical music in Australia. She has performed in major centres in Australia and India.

Since migrating to Australia over a decade ago, Sundari has contributed to the enrichment of the musical and cultural scene of Australia. Sundari started Swara Sadhana School of Carnatic Music, where she trains a number of students.

A key member of Indian community, Sundari has provided the inspiration and empowerment to a group of of mature-age women of Indian origin.

Through her teachings, she has enabled them to participate and present congregational spiritual music. She is a committee member of the Federation of Indian Music and Dance, Victoria, an organisation established to promote resident musicians in Melbourne.
