Dandenong Market is celebrating the Festival of Lights with a fun day of free entertainment for the whole family.

There will also be a delicious array of food trucks and stalls to help you indulge in the best street eats from the Indian subcontinent.

Visitors to the market can enjoy traditional live music and Bollywood-inspired performances and take part in traditional Indian customs including sari wrapping and henna hand painting.

All Diwali activities and performances are free. Sundays at the Market include free parking.

Entertainment Schedule

10am: Sanchita Abrol
Traditional Kathak dancing a classical Indian classical dance, traditionally attributed to the travelling bards of ancient northern India known as Kathakars.

11am: Vishver Rangayathanaya
Sri Lankan traditional and folk dancing including up-country (Udarata or Kandian), low-country (Pahatharata) and Sabaragamu

12pm: Cathy Lee Danceworks
Cathy Lee Danceworks will wow audiences with a variety of dance styles.

1pm: Bharathanatyanjali School of Dance
The term Bharata in Bharatanatyam, in the Hindu tradition, is believed to have named after the famous performance art sage to whom the ancient Natya Shastra is attributed. The term Natyam is a Tamil word for “dance”

2pm: Bollydazzlers
Bollydazzler dancers are exuberant, upbeat and dazzling to watch. Dressed in colourful Bollywood costumes, the Bollydazzlers set the stage alight with energy, style, grace and a lot of fun.

3pm: Bhangra Regiment Melbourne
