Dr Alok Jhamb

Dr Alok Jhamb is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in Surgery of the Hand, Wrist and Shoulder.

He was educated at the University of Queensland, being conferred a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1994.  He worked in various hospitals throughout Queensland during his training and was awarded his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2004.  Further advanced training in hand, wrist and microsurgery was undertaken in Sydney in 2005 at the Sydney Hand and St Luke’s Hospitals.  In 2006 he undertook a shoulder fellowship program specialising in arthroscopic and open surgery at the Prince of Wales Hospital.

Dr Jhamb regularly attends and presents at conferences and educational events to maintain standards required by the College of Surgeons for continuing medical education.  He has completed further microsurgical training with the National University Hospital in Singapore.

Dr Jhamb has been certified as an examiner with the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

He holds membership with the Queensland Hand Surgery Society, the Queensland Shoulder and Elbow Society, the Australian Hand Surgery Society and the Medicolegal Society of Queensland.

The focus of Dr Jhamb’s practice is hand, wrist and shoulder surgery.  He is actively involved in teaching medical students at the Wesley Hospital and training residents and registrars at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Dr Jhamb holds a public appointment at the Princess Alexandra and Royal Brisbane Hospitals.
