Dr. Gautam Sridhar

Dr Gautam Sridhar graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours) in 1999 and went on to complete a Graduate Certificate in Dentistry from the University of Adelaide in 2006. Gautam has practiced in the North Shore of Sydney since graduation and joined Chatswood Dental Associates in 2010.

Knowing how overwhelming visits to the dentists can be, Gautam likes to take time to explain the various options so that his patients can make a truly informed decision. Gautam has the strong belief that a Dentist who is well trained in the full range of dental procedures is best placed to advice a patient and he has undertaken significant training in Australia and overseas to achieve this goal.

Gautam has a special interest in endodontics (root canal treatments) and periodontics (gum treatments, including implant dentistry) and has lectured extensively to his professional colleagues on the above topics.

Gautam is currently an Expert Reviewer for the Health Care Complaints Commission and a Peer Advisor for Experien Insurance Services. He is also engaged by a number of legal firms as an expert dental advisor.

Gautam has been extremely active within the dental profession and continues to mentor young graduates. He is a Fellow and member of various Societies including the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, International Association for Orthodontics, and the Australasian Association of Orofacial Orthopaedics. He has been awarded the highest level of Accreditation by the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry and has had teaching roles in the Faculties of Dentistry at the Universities of Sydney and Adelaide.

Gautam has been  elected for several terms as the President of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (NSW Branch) and has been an elected Council Member of the Australian Dental Association (NSW Branch).

He continues his attitude of giving something back to his profession with roles in sub-committees of various organisations.

Outside of Dentistry, Gautam has three school aged children and his love for "junk food" is well known! He is also an accredited Cycling coach and a qualified soccer coach. If you don't find him doing something within Dentistry, he is probably decked out in Lycra and doing something crazy on his bicycle.
