GROoVAi are a fusion group with a passionate love of music and of the groove, combining the instruments and influences of India and Australia!

In 2013, on their first tour to India, GROoVAi independently recorded a debut CD ‘Postcard from Varanasi’ – an international collaboration released in Australia.

Warwick and Tina play as a duo in ‘Out of Abingdon’, they have toured internationally and are gaining notoriety in Australia for their dynamic festival performances and regular live gigs.

They are both professional musicians playing in a number of different combinations and began playing together after studying at Brisbane’s Jazz Music Institute.

Ravikesh Singh is a Tabla player renown in Brisbane for his collaborative work in the multicultural music community.

Ravi has worked on many recordings and brings a wealth of experience and feel to his percussion and vocal musings.
Ravi tours regularly both in Australia and internationally and regularly spends time in India studying the Banaras Gharana style of tabla.

Sudha Manian is an accomplished musician, having completed a PHD in Classical Indian Music on Sitar in Hyderabad, India.

Now living in Australia, Sudha has established her musical career collaborating with various groups and her soulful playing is much sought after.

GROoVAi play with local guest musicians including some very talented Indian vocalists whenever the opportunity arises.

Warwick, Tina and Ravi from Australia collaborate and have recorded with musicians in India including members of the family of Pandit Ishwa lal Mishra – a tabla player of International renown and their skills have been passed on through 7 generations of Mishras.

All are outstanding and highly skilled professional musicians trained in Indian Classical Music.

Also playing with GROoVAi in India is the amazing percussionist Kushal Krishna on Djembe. Kushal is also from a long family line of musicians.

We aim to collaborate for further tours in Australia and Internationally back to India and beyond.
