Provide First Aid (HLTAID003)
Hope Institute is proud to offer HLTAID003 Provide First Aid. The program provides learners with skills and knowledge required to recognize and respond to life threatening emergencies using basic life support measures.
It includes:
- Introduction to first aid principles
- Assessing an emergency situation
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation techniques (CPR)
- Infection control and First Aid for minor wounds
- Anaphylaxis emergencies
- Asthma emergencies
- Control of major external bleeding
- Communicating details of an incident
- Debriefing and evaluation of response to critical incidents
- National recognition
This course has been drawn from the nationally endorsed industry-training package the HLT Health Training Package release 1.0. On successfully completing the training and assessment, a Statement of Attainment will be issued for the following units HLTAID003 Provide First Aid. The unit of competence is nationally recognised and can be applied throughout Australia.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students must notify Hope Institute of their interest or intention to apply for RPL prior to their enrollment. If a student is requesting RPL for HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, the process at Hope Institute is that the student must provide a Statement of Attainment as proof of having completed the unit they wish to have RPL. This will exempt them from having to redo the learning and fast track the students straight to the assessment workshop.
Student Information
Detailed student information is available within our Participant Handbook, which is supplied with the enrollment package. This booklet contains important information about a student’s right and obligation such as their right to privacy, a safe training environment and right to complain or appeal an assessment decision. It is important that persons applying forenrollment have had an opportunity to review this information first. Please contact us and we can send this information to you straight away.
Cost
The cost of the course is on a fee for service basis and prices may be found in our current Course Fee Schedule on the Hope Institute’s website.

Our knowledge is based upon visual and real life experiences and try to make every theoretically part of life interesting for better understanding. As well as to assist inplanning around complex issues, we facilitate or support any change individual experiencing.

About Us
A research report conducted by the IBISWorld presented that by year 2056, one out of every four Australians will be 65 years old and above. With this, as more individuals enter their golden years, a demand for aged care services is also expected to significantly increase.
We understand that ageing is not an illness, however, it can also pose challenging situations. Working hand in hand with Hope Institute for Further Education (RTO ID 40476), Hope Training is a team with a sincere passion for education and training. With team members who have intensive background in aged care settings, we always try to bring out the best out of every student and offer each one the best education/training content that there is.
Studying with us will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to provide physical, social and psychological support for the elderly as well as people with those who have disabilities. Additionally, we shall guide you through with bringing out the best attitudes as well to handle aged care and disability services unconditionally. All these, when successfully practiced will also turn your passion for helping others into a viable profession.
In the duration of the course, we provide in-depth lectures and comprehensive workshops to give students an actual feel of what it’s like working in different aged care settings, may it be in the community area, hostels or residential homes. Through this, one will learn how to harness your empathy to maintain the well-being and independence of the elderly.
Additionally, students are immersed in group discussions and recreational activities to experience the wonder of different cultures among students.
