Lakemba Mosque Open Day in Sydney, 28th October 2017

Lakemba Mosque Open Day is Australia’s largest and most famous mosque open day. Occurring annually, the event is the focal point of the Australia-wide National Mosque Open Day. The day has a festive atmosphere and is community-centred, with jumping castle, animal farm, face-painting, henna art, free barbecue, freshly-squeezed juice and coffee, as well as tours of the mosque, exhibitions and opportunities for QandA with Muslim religious leaders.

National Mosque Open Day is an annual Australia-wide event organised by the Lebanese Muslim Association and proudly supported by the Department of Social Services.

The event features a number of mosques across the nation simultaneously opening their doors to the public and inviting them to come in and explore their local mosque. In 2017, National Mosque Open Day will feature participating mosques across the nation, in capital cities as well as in regional towns, giving more Australians than ever the chance to visit and be welcomed into their local mosques.
