Meera – The Production – Official Event
Meera, is the ambitious first offering from Wild Dreamer Productions, and boasting a 300-strong cast and crew, the new stage spectacular will premiere for ONE NIGHT ONLY at Home of the Arts (formally Gold Coast Arts Centre), on the 4th of November this year (2018).
?
Meera is a bold love story from 16th century Northern India about a royal Princess who believes in her love for Krishna (a Hindu God) to such a degree that she is willing to go against the norms of society for her love.
A beautiful confluence of musical, theatrical dance and narration, laced with mesmerizing opera singing to tell this universal narrative of when unbridled faith meets true love.
This is a story of love, passion, betrayal and every emotion of human experience that make or break a person – Meera has it all.
With local amateurs ranging from the Gold Coast to Northern Brisbane, Meera connects local artists and those in the community, provide a platform for them to share their talent, and collaborate with people from different backgrounds and disciplines – all in a pursuit of love.
Meera is more than just a stage production, its the result of countless hours of collaboration, research and support from passionate volunteers around the planet.
With costumes made in India, music curated between renowned international composers and dance choreographed by the Aarti Bajaj herself, Meera will be a performance of a lifetime.
So follow this unique celebration of love, and join us at Home of the Arts this November to witness this beautiful telling of love.
