FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Oktoberfest Canberra is open to all ages and if you look younger than 25, we will ask for valid photo ID. To enter the festival site without your mum or dad, or to purchase or consume alcohol at the festival, you must have a valid photo ID as proof of age.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Oktoberfest Canberra will be offering free bus services to all online ticket holders to and from Canberra City, Woden, Tuggeranong and Bungendore. Parking is available on site with a $5 parking fee. Entry to the carpark will be via glebe street.

What is the payment method for food and beverages at Oktoberfest Canberra?

We have teamed up with CBA (Commonwealth Bank of Australia) and will have Eftpos Alberts at all point of sale. Cash will be accepted and Eftpos is the preferred method of payment.

What can I bring into the event?

Use your noggin and keep items to a minimum. You want to be able to carry a stein in one hand and a pretzel in the other. You are welcome to bring in things such as picnic blankets, table cloths, seating cushions, children and your in-laws, but only if you promise to take them all home again at the end of the day.
Seriously though, it is a condition of entry to the festival that you permit a search of your possessions at the time of entry to the venue. Any item we may consider inappropriate can’t be brought in and may be confiscated. Refusal to consent to a search will prevent your entry to the festival site which will probably cause tears.

Bag Checks are necessary, because some things are not allowed to be brought to Oktoberfest Canberra. Examples of some things you can’t bring in are glass, alcohol, weapons, illicit substances, pets, chandeliers or cement mixers.

Food and Drink on offer at Oktoberfest Canberra is some of the most tasty and authentic available outside of Germany. It wasn’t easy to find, so please support our handcrafted beverage and foodie partners by leaving yours at home.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, think of the trees! We are in the 20th century, use your smart phone! We will accept printed tickets but access to your purchased tickets are easy peasy! If you have any problems accessing your tickets come see our friendly staff at the front gates.
