Shirodhara is made up of two words Shiro meaning “Head” and Dhara meaning “Flow” from the ancient European Indian Sanskrit language.

In the procedure of Shirodhara, particular pressure and vibration is created over the forehead. This vibration is amplified by the hollow sinus present in the frontal bone. This vibration and the warmth of the oil activates the function of the thalamus (the Third Eye) which produces serotonin (neurotransmitters such as Adrenaline and Adopamine) that will induce the well being and assist with the balancing our Doshas (energies).
