Successful Environmental Campaigning in Melbourne, 20th July 2017
Listen to Cam Walker Campaign Coordinator from Friends of the Earth talk about the lessons from the successful campaigns which saw Victoria become the first state to declare a permanent ban on fracking and set a state renewable target (VRET).
The VRET is now driving investment in renewables and helping to reduce the states greenhouse emissions.
Both these campaigns were based on a combination of grassroots campaigning, building alliances with people outside the environment movement, and ‘inside track’ lobby efforts targeting all political parties.
Please arrive early if you would like to order food from the bar. The event is in the small dinning room.
