YOGA & MINDFULNESS FOR TEENS.
Ages 12-17

Want to learn more about yoga, meditation & mindfulness and why it’s such a cool thing to be doing?? Then come along to this workshop & find out! This workshop will be super-chilled & fun… it is the perfect pause in between the hectic worlds of school, friends, boyfriends, studying and partying..

WHO CAN ATTEND…

Teenagers aged 12-17 (girls & guys welcome!) of all experience levels.. you don’t need to know a thing about yoga or mindfulness.. Just come with an open mind & a playful heart!

WHAT WE’LL DO…

– We will have fun exploring yoga postures, and practice a flowing yoga sequence to today’s latest tunes. Yoga postures aim to stengthen, tone and relax the body.
– Explore fun meditation techniques and mindfulness activities that you can practise in everyday life when you are feeling stressed & need to find your zen.
– Practice breathing exercises to calm your body, mind & spirit.
– We will end the session with a dreamy, guided meditation to leave you feeling completely blissed out!

THIS WORKSHOP IS DESIGNED TO…

– Teach you the basics of yoga, as well as its benefits. Yoga is great for mental as well as physical health and helps to build a positive body image and emotional resilience.
– Strengthen, stretch, tone and relax your body through yoga.
– Provide you with mindfulness tools that can help you relax. Mindfulness is both a practice and a way of looking at life. It’s about being able to slow down, to centre your attention and to be okay with things ‘just as they are’.
– Teach you different meditation techniques.. you don’t have to sit in silence to meditate.. there are so many interesting techniques we can explore!
– Learn about the the power of breathing to improve your health & wellness.
– Increase your flexibility and core strength.
– Deepen the connection to your body, mind and spirit.
– Get you grounded, feel inspired, empowered and free.
– Help you to let go, improve confidence and express yourself!

Yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices are proven to help manage stress, improve focus, increase resilience, enhance creativity and self-esteem – and they’re fun to learn!! Getting ‘out of our head’ and ‘into our body’ is the key to mindfulness and a happier, healthier life.

This workshop will be guided by Holly, an experienced and extremely passionate yoga teacher & counsellor ( see more details about Holly below). It will be lots of fun, super-relaxed and non-competitive. We will encourage each other to feel naturally good about our body, mind and emotions and to develop healthy lifestyle habits.

WEAR : Anything you can move comfortably in. We practice in bare feet.
WHAT TO BRING: Drink bottle, snacks, blanket/rug, pen & paper (if you want to take notes) and a yoga mat! If you don’t have a mat, no worries- just let us know 🙂

ABOUT HOLLY….

Holly is a trained yoga teacher, dancer, counsellor, level 1 reiki healer, hypnotherapist and wellness mentor.

Holly has extensive experience teaching yoga to teens in schools, as well as within the community and sharing her wellness knowledge with young people is her number 1 passion.

Holly is also a social worker and has spent over 5 years working in the youth sector within mental health, drug & alcohol, homelessness, disability, as well as with refugees & asylum seekers.

Health and fitness have always been an important part of Holly’s life and she now dedicates all of her time to sharing her love of yoga, movement & mindfulness with others.

Having experienced anxiety, body image issues and chonic pain, yoga and mindfulness practices have had a huge impact on Holly’s recovery.

Holly believes that yoga and mindfulness can take us on a deep journey inwards.. they enable us to heal and to better connect with our true self, as well as with others.
