You will learn:

  • How to cook some quick, simple and healthy Ayurvedic meals with kitchen garden fresh ingredients, some herbs and spices
  • How food’s subtle properties affect our constitution
  • How love is the essential ingredient of a nurturing meal.
  • Food that is suitable for your body type and your particular circumstances at the time of eating. There is no such thing as the ‘perfect diet’ that is right for everyone at all times. Life is dynamic and our diet should change according to our circumstances.

Good health is a natural part of our life but we often learn to take care only when we don’t have it. In this cooking demo workshop we introduce you through Ayurveda, a complete system of health, in its application to all of us in modern life. Ayurveda offers knowledge about your body, mind, senses, emotions, and relationships – with others, with the environment, and with yourself, based on the development of consciousness that integrates all aspects of life, directing all domains of your life. The fundamental healing principle of Ayurveda is to restore balance in mind, body, and emotions simultaneously by reawakening your own resources of biological intelligence.

Every disease that humans have had, from cardiovascular problems to cancer to degenerative disorders, has been linked in some way or another to diet. Despite this understanding, our approach to diet has been clinical, sterile and void of the mystery of life that is present in the very act of eating. In this workshop we look at celebrating nourishment at all levels: physical, mental and spiritual but in a way that is very practical for busy, working people.

We will also introduce you to :

  • Tastes and their significance in digestion and health
  • Tastes and their relationship with emotions e.g. we have sweet emotions like love and sour emotions like envy and bitter emotions like grief.
  • Learning how to use our food as a healing force for inner balance and well being
  • Practical diet strategies for balanced food
  • Taste is nature’s indicator of what effect a food is going to have on your system (using Churnas is a way of ensuring a balance of tastes for each body type).
  • Food that is prepared lovingly and with care and attention. The way food is prepared and served has a major effect on how it influences our body, mind & soul.
