Member Seminar Series in Melbourne, 25 July – 15 August – September 2017
How can I live a more wildlife-friendly life?
6pm Tuesday 25 July
Wildlife and habitats are increasingly under threat because of people and their actions, which means we are also the key to reducing these threats and helping the environment around us.
Community Conservation specialists Ben Sanders and Pete Lancaster will lead an interactive discussion focusing on simple changes you can make to have a positive influence on the future of wildlife.
You will walk away with opportunities to take action in your home as well as lead the way for further conservation action in your community.
Join us for this exciting, first instalment of the Membership Seminar Series, taking place inside the stunning National Geographic Photo Ark exhibition at Melbourne Zoo.
Meet the CEO and Animal Welfare Specialist
6pm Tuesday 15 August
Now more than ever we need good zoos. During this fascinating seminar you will be given the opportunity to meet the people striving for change in zoos around the world, exploring the role zoos will play in the future and how they will evolve.
Join Zoos Victoria CEO Dr Jenny Gray and Animal Welfare Specialist Dr Sally Sherwen as they discuss whether zoos can do enough to responsibly house animals in the future.
We’ll cover the potential impact of global species conservation as well as advances in welfare science. And you’ll get the chance to ask the CEO or our Animal Welfare Specialist a question of your own.
As zoos around the world face the growing challenge of providing a safe haven for animals that are under threat of extinction, they will need to act as leading ambassadors for conservation and animal welfare.
Join us for an evening of discussion and debate, where we will tackle the challenging questions regarding the future of zoos, with an opportunity to meet the leaders of Zoos Victoria.
