   Hi, I am looking for someone to play sitar, or sitar and tabla, in an Indian restaurant, as part of our music festival in Kew, on Fri, May 27 from 6.30pm. I was wondering if you were available or know of someone who would be great for this? If so, I'd love to receive a quote on what it would cost to book you. I hope to hear from you, cheers! Alli

   Good afternoon,I am strongly connected to the Indian Community. My travel business takes people to India only, it is the country I feel I was born to belong to even though I was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. My sentiments for India run high and given how devastating the COVID situation in India is at the moment, little oxygen, few available vaccines, hunger, starvation for many, lack of money and even basic medicines, no hospital beds, I felt something extra had to be done, I couldn't just sit by and watch this tragedy grow. Along with very talented partners we are holding a WONDERFUL fundraiser event on July 10, 5PM-9PM at a beautiful hall in St Kilda ('Heroes Lounge'). Our high end event incorporates a team of Bollywood dancers donating their services, Bollywood movies on screens in the background, Indian food supplied throughout the evening and many people from the Indian community will attend to assist our efforts. Mr Geoffrey Conagahan, Commissioner to India for the Victorian Government from 2009, now in Melbourne, will be the Master of Ceremonies. ALL monies raised from entry to the event and auctions on the evening will go to giveindia.org, an Indian organization which distributes all donations far and wide across India, to those in need at this time in areas such as those aforementioned. We are looking for a Sitar player to introduce people to the event, to play from approximately 5PM-5.45PM, traditional Indian Sitar music. We would like to ask that if you should be free at this time, on this day, if you might consider either donating your services to play or offer us a reduced rate given all monies raised do go towards our relief effort? Any consideration would be greatly appreciated for this most worthy of causes. I look forward to hearing back from you and thank you for reading about the assistance we are trying to provide.
